Studying the Bible is no easy thing but it is one of the BEST, most life-giving things you will ever do.
Commit yourself, daily.
Then open your Bible. Maybe you follow a one year plan or maybe you follow a study or reading plan. Write the verses down and give thanks to God for them. Apply what you’ve read to your life. Write in a journal. Reflect. And best of all, pray.
January 1, 2021 marked the day that I completed my “Bible in a Year” reading plan. I read the entire Bible in one year. I couldn’t believe it!
There were times I just didn’t feel like it. There were days and even weeks I fell behind on my reading. But I knew I could do it.
I knew I could do it because I knew I had to. Not out of obligation but because it was absolutely necessary.
I’ve learned so much, including how to devote myself better this year (I’m reading the Bible in chronological order).
I’ve learned how to pray, how to talk to God, and I’ve gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for just who God is.
I truly feel so much closer to Him and I know that that will only increase every year I devote myself to reading the entire Bible.
He is my Father, my Lord, my King, my Friend. He is so many beautiful things to me and I’ve fallen in love with how He reveals Himself to me in His Word.
All this to say: You won’t regret this, friend.
That’s a promise from God Himself.
