Welcome to Simply, yours
Simply, yours is a ministry that is first and foremost for God.
It is secondly for His daughters who have experienced trauma in their pasts and may find it difficult to have a relationship with Him.
You are not alone.
You are worthy.
You are chosen.
You are Loved.
Treasure has been on my mind a lot lately. First, I finally read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Then a few days later I read I Chronicles 28-29 and Matthew 6:19-21. If you’ve read The Alchemist Matthew 6:21 is at the core of the story: “For where your treasure is, there your heart will beContinue reading “Storing Up Treasure”
A while back, the church I go to, Cross Point, did a series called “Over It”. It was a-w-e-s-o-m-e and awful at the same time. But awful in a good way because it pulled some stuff up and out from deep within me. The second sermon in the series was called “Over It: Work ThroughContinue reading ““Dear Anxiety””
This exact time last year, Josh and I were trapped in Peru. You’ll be able to read for yourselves exactly what happened as well as what Josh and I were thinking and feeling during it all. Our faith was tested but we persevered and came out stronger together. The enemy tried to rob us of our perspective but Jesus was all around us, showing us that He is so much more than it all if we only have eyes to see and a heart open to receiving Him.
I’ve found that worthy, chosen, and Loved each have a specific, special meaning, especially for people who have experienced trauma in their pasts.
Significant lies that may keep us from feeling like we can have a relationship with Jesus includes feeling unworthy, insignificant, and unloved.
This journey of believing and reframing your thoughts, habitual tendencies, and feelings is hard. For me it truly felt like I was coming out of my skin.
I felt off-center and directionless. And that was on a good day.
But the more that His words of unconditional Love, grace, peace, loving-kindness, goodness, and joy pierced my heart the more I found myself beginning to change. I was making new, and better choices. I began to be aware of and fight the lies.
What I had been told about God and what Jesus says of me was taken directly from Scripture so I began to repeatedly tell myself,
“You are worthy, you are chosen, you are Loved”.
It became my mantra, but more than that it became a sort of lifeline; it’s what has kept me connected to Jesus and who He is.
It can be that for you too.
You are Worthy
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus”
You are Chosen
“Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him”
You are Loved
“For God so loved the world he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
